For about an hour, the Chemin de fer touristique du Haut-Quercy takes you on a suspended journey. The highlight? The cornice passages, where the rails seem to float above the void. At this point, the carriages slow down, and you have plenty of time to admire (and photograph) the grandiose landscape before you.
In summer, steam locomotives are put into service, adding even more charm to the ride. The smell of coal, the train whistles, the slow pace of the journey… everything you need to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of yesteryear.

The train departs from Martel, a superb medieval village well worth visiting before or after your journey. You can stroll through its narrow streets, discover its towers and historic market halls, or take a gourmet break on a shady terrace.
